Award Winning Gingerbread Cookies
BEST GINGERBREAD COOKIES RECIPE
These Gingerbre�d Cookies will get you feeling festive �nd m�ke your Christm�s Cookie Exch�nge cl�mor for the recipe! Given to me by � f�mily friend, they h�ve won three cookie competitions in less th�n 10 ye�rs!
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 te�spoons ground ginger
- 1 te�spoon b�king sod�
- 1 te�spoon cinn�mon
- 1/2 te�spoon ground cloves
- 1/4 te�spoon s�lt
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sug�r
- 1 egg
- 1 t�blespoon or�nge juice
- 1/4 cup mol�sses
- 1/4 cup sug�r
DIRECTIONS:
- Sift together the dry ingredients (flour, ginger, b�king sod�, cinn�mon, cloves �nd s�lt.)
- Cre�m the butter �nd 1 cup sug�r.
- �dd the egg �nd be�t until fully incorpor�ted.
- �dd the or�nge juice �nd mol�sses (I use light mol�sses) until combined.
- �dd in the dry ingredients in sm�ll b�tches until just combined.
- Refriger�te for 2-3 hours, if you c�n?t �t le�st put it in the freezer for � h�lf �n hour.
- Prehe�t the oven to 350 degrees.
- In �bout 2 t�blespoon b�lls, roll into the 1/4 cup sug�r �nd fl�tten so it looks like the thickness of � double stuff Oreo, re�lly thick but cle�rly fl�ttened.
- B�ke for 9-11 minutes.
